About Jim and Jenine Miller
Jim has earned a Masters certificate from Washington State Beekeepers Association.
He has been a hobbyist beekeeper
since 1995.
Jim went to the Republic of Georgia to discuss beekeeping techniques with
the beekeepers over there in 2005 and again in 2006. He brought back natural recipes for treatments that
they use in lieu of using chemicals.
Jim has taught beginning beekeeping at the Washington State Extension Office
in Spokane since 1999. His maximum class size is 50 and they usually get around 75 requests
for the class. The class takes place every Friday night starting in early January for 10 weeks.
Students have the opportunity to earn the certificate issued by the Washington State University extension office. The information in the class is designed to help the student pass the Apprentice Certificate issued by the Washington State Beekeepers Association which is available online at their web site.
Jenine is the wife and sidekick for Jim. She has earned a Journeymans certificate from Washington State
Beekeepers Association and has been involved with bees since 1995. In addition to beekeeping, she is also
a longarm quilter.
We have had our business for several years and have slowly expanded what we carry.
We have a variety of honey available at Millers Homestead. We also carry beekeeping supplies, bottling containers, gift items, and more.
Call or stop by and see what we have in store.
We can be found by taking exit 264 from I-90. Turn North towards Medical Lake. Turn West on Malloy Prairie Rd. Turn North on Tucker Prairie Rd. Turn right onto Stangland Rd. We are the first driveway on the left. Call 1-509-299-9085 before coming to make sure someone is there. Jenine usually is but sometimes leaves to get groceries and run errands.
